Marriage License

Marriage license applications are accepted Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Both applicants must be present at the same time, and must provide an I.D. The applicants will be required to complete and sign a marriage application, and an application supplement report.
If either applicant had a previous marriage, documentation must be submitted at the time of application, which indicates how the previous marriage was dissolved.
(Divorce decree, death certificate, etc.)Marriage License Fee, effective July 1, 2005, as provided by law (H.B. 378):
- If the applicants have completed a six (6) hour premarital education program pursuant to O.C.G.A. 19-3-30.1 the cost of the license is $36.00.
- If the applicants have not completed a premarital education program pursuant to O.C.G.A. 9-3-30.1, the cost of the license is $76.00.
- A certified copy is an additional $20.00 (personal checks accepted). Once the license is issued and the ceremony has been performed, the officiate performing the ceremony will return the license to the court for recording. Once recorded, certified copies can be issued, and the original license will remain on file in the court.
